That's like wearing your dirty socks after a shower! Instead, add the crowning-touch to your new exhaust system with one of the many exhaust tips available online. With our vast variety of styles to choose from, you're sure to find that one perfect tip to make your statement.

Replacing factory exhaust tips

Let's face it, most factory exhaust systems leave a lot to be desired. They're usually not designed for performance or tuned for a killer sound. Worse yet, they're often made from untreated mild steel that rusts out and eventually fails. Not to mention how mundane factory exhaust tips look--even when brand new. And nothing says "jalopy" like an old corroded exhaust tip hanging from under a vehicle. Whether you want to beat the rust demons to the punch or you need to replace a dragging tip that leaves a spectacular shower of sparks in your wake, a custom chrome exhaust tip will showcase your individual style and replace that weak factory pipe topper.

How do I know what size to choose?

To ensure that you order the correct size exhaust tip, 3 sizes must be known:

Inlet Size:

The inlet measurement on the exhaust tip must match the diameter of your
tailpipe.

Outlet Size:

This is the size of the exhaust side of your tip. Some tips flare out, some are straight. If your vehicle's body has a cut-out for a stainless steel exhaust tip, make sure the new one will clear this area to avoid an unsightly fit, or even worse, burning or scorching your vehicle's body.

Length:

This measurement determines how far out your tip is going to extend. Just as with outlet size, you must consider the locations of any factory cut-outs. You also want to make sure that the hot exhaust gasses will be exiting safely.

How do I decide between stainless steel and chromed steel?

Both materials are great for building high-quality exhaust tips. If you're looking for economical style, go with the chromed steel. If you seek a long-lasting luster and a material that stands up to years of abuse, stainless steel is your answer.

Chromed Steel Is:

- Inexpensive

- Lighter than stainless steel

- Less tolerant to long-term abuse

- Prone to rust once the chrome layer is compromised

Stainless Steel Is:

- Polished, not plated

- Extremely resistant to corrosion

- Provides years of service and still gleams

- Costs more than chromed steel

Buying online is the way to go for tips. I found the perfect match for my Toyota Tacoma and ended up purchasing a magnaflow exhaust tip and still turn heads on the road! :)

Customizing Your Chevy Panel Truck - 3 Tips

The Chevy Panel Truck is one of the most customizable vehicles that have been produced. It does not matter whether the truck comes from the 1930's or later, each and every panel truck offers a wide range of customizable options. The versatile nature of their shape makes them ideal for making custom vehicles that simply outshine all of the competition. The appeal is that they are genuine Chevy trucks which have great power and amazing cargo space for anything you may need. The following 3 tips on customization are useful to consider:

The paint jobs of the original coat will more than likely be in poor condition if you have received the vehicle from a secondhand source. You will need to strip the original coat and put in a high quality primer to help the next paint coat and artistic enhancements on the Chevy Panel Truck to work well. This allows the paint to stick and is easily workable, while providing a clean surface which is less likely to have mistakes once the finishing touches are put in.

Sport rims are useful in providing an artistic flare into the vehicle while providing much needed stability and handling improvements for the driving experience. The sport rims can be custom fitted and made of low weight materials which can help increase fuel economy while providing a genuine customized feel to the vehicle's exterior. There are many different types of sport rims which could be used in the Chevy Panel Truck that you will be customizing. The selection of sport rims really depends on what type of look you wish to impose on the vehicle once the customization is complete.

The most important part of the Chevy Panel Truck customization occurs in the interior of the vehicle. You can basically replace everything inside from the seats, dashboard control panel, and sound system and just about everything else. By planning out the interior in advance, double checking all of the space constraints and building the necessary framework within the Chevy Panel Truck, you can really make the interior custom fit to your needs. Many people enjoy using the cargo space of these vehicles to house an amazing sound system while others will use it for other purposes. The customization of the interior can really go many ways but it should be done last to prevent damages during other portions of the vehicle customization.

Coyote Hunting Techniques

Coyote hunting can be an exhilarating pastime. They are very challenging to hunt because of the senses and skills that they have evolved. Coyotes are very adaptable animals with great survival skills and keen senses, the Hunter should always keep this in mind lest he lets negativity cause errors in his judgment. They are however, very susceptible to certain hunting techniques because of these innate traits. The coyote's nature is extremely vocal and they will eat just about anything. This gives the Hunter all the edge that he needs.

One coyote hunting technique which is successfully employed is baiting. This involves the placement of meat scraps, animal carcasses, etc, in an open area that can be seen by the coyote and the Hunter, such as an open field or a frozen lake. Once there is confirmation that they are coyotes present, such as a confirmed sighting or animal tracks, the Hunter can hide himself and await that first shot.

The most common technique, and by far the most popular, is the technique of hunting coyotes through calling. Because coyotes are very vocal animals, known as song dogs, they can be drawn out fairly easily with the correct calls. There are two types of call, one is the imitation call, the other is the distress call. Imitation calls mimic the various vocal calls of the coyote itself and will include female mating calls, male challenge calls, alarm calls, and locating calls. Hunters use these calls in an attempt to provoke a response from the coyote. In this way they are confirming that the coyote is present, or indeed not present, and in some cases actually locating the coyote. The coyote call will vary from season to season. If a call is successful, the Hunter will continue to use it, if the call is not successful they can switch to another type of call, or a distress call can be used.

One of the most successful techniques that the coyote Hunter can use to bring out his prey is a distress call. This call is in effect saying "dinner is served" as far as the coyote is concerned. The coyote will mostly hunt hares, rabbits, small birds, squirrels, mice, and other rodents. You can purchase commercial distress calls, or there are other simple techniques that can be employed such as making a squeak by blowing into your hands. When using this technique you have to determine what food the coyotes are eating and adjust your call to suit.

It is always recommended that you wear camouflage gear for this because you do not want to give your location away. Also, don't expect to just go out hunting every year and outsmart the coyote just by hiding behind a tree in some random location. You have to do your homework. Study the different calls (or language) of the coyote during the off-season. You also need to have plenty of patience; sometimes this just involves relieving the boredom by having a partner with you. Having a partner with you also gives you the added benefit of being safe and will give you an extra set of eyes in order to effectively scan the landscape.

Dredging to Restore Your Pond

Once a body of water is formed, nature goes about filling it in with sediments from runoff. Mother Nature desires a steady state which is a uniform level. Most ponds slowly become bogs and swamps before ultimately drying out to become dry land once again. This usually takes many years, but human activity often speeds up the process. Dredging out this material is a fast way to deepen a body of water and remove many layers of nutrient that feed sometimes rampant aquatic plant growth. There are options when considering how to dredging you pond and you should be aware of the different techniques and which one will be right for you.

Long reach excavation is very straight forward. A specialized back hoe is brought in to dig the material from the bottom of the pond. If the pond is of any size, it will need to be drained to reach all the areas of the bottom. The amount of material can be easily quantified so you are sure that your money has gone to a defined amount of material being removed. Some of the down sides are that you will loose the use of your ponds while it is emptied and allowed to dry out. The fish contained will have to be moved or they will perish. The shoreline area will most likely be torn up as the equipment is moved around and sediment hauled away. This shoreline will have to be restored which may take years and will add to the overall cost.

Hydraulic dredging is a technique that uses water mixed with the bottom sediment to move the material away. The footprint for this type of dredging is much smaller than using excavators. One point of access is all that is required limiting shoreline damage. Large amounts of material can be moved without loss of fish habitat or the need to stock the pond again. However, a retention site must be available nearby to allow the water taken with the sediment to flow back into the pond while holding back the solid spoils. This area is typically quite large as the transported material is typically 80-90% water with 10-20% sediment. Once dried, most choose to move the material away adding another step and cost to the process. Also, it is very difficult to quantify the material removed through this process to determine if the contracted amount of material was removed from the pond. It is only after the material has dried that an accurate measurement can even be attempted. This takes months to happen.

Another newer alternative is a paddle wheeled propelled hydraulic barge that utilizes a mounted excavator arm with a clam-shell bucket. It effectively becomes a floating excavator that can reach all areas of the pond to dig very precisely to remove sediment from around habitat and docks. It allows the fish population to remain untouched in the pond and has a very small footprint. The sediment is loaded into a barge to be transported to a loading site where an excavator transports the material from the barge into a truck to be hauled away. The amount of material removed is easily quantified since the material is not mixed with water and a truckload is easily measured. Because of the low impact and setup costs, this alternative can be used in affordable stages instead of an all or nothing option.

Consider what you need, what you can afford and your site requirements. With the options above you should be able to find a choice that fits your needs.

The Art of Braking - Learning the Proper Braking Techniques

Braking is a lost skill. Although this is unfortunate, it is not unfounded. Most cars today are equipped with an anti-lock braking system (or ABS) so drivers simply slam on the brakes in any given situation. While this is not an entirely flawed technique, it may not be the best solution because handling capabilities are reduced, putting you in greater danger. Thus, learning to brake properly is important to ensure safety and control. It is also important in driver etiquette.

What is ABS?

ABS is one of the most significant safety advances in automotive engineering in recent decades. First developed in 1936, ABS is designed to prevent skidding. It helps drivers maintain steering control when they have to perform an emergency brake. Because the wheels don't lock when the driver steps on the brakes, the driver has the ability to steer around hazards if they cannot stop in time.

Braking Tips

Avoid "riding the brake" and "brake checking". To "ride the brake" is to keep your foot on the brake, applying it even when it is not needed. Brake riding confuses the driver behind you because he or she will not be able to figure out what you are doing or about to do.Meanwhile, a "brake check" is when you hit the brakes abruptly. This can cause serious accidents, not to mention upset other drivers on the road. Instead of brake checking and riding, try braking moderately and slowly. Not only is this the safest way to apply your brakes, it also increases the lifespan of your brakes by allowing the brakes to cool. This will save you some money in the long run.

Brake earlier, not later. Apply your brakes firmly and early, not at the very last minute. This allows for a smooth stop and it increases safety by allowing sudden stops if required. Moreover, braking early gives the driver behind you ample warning to apply their brakes and prevent them from crashing into you. By braking late, you also risk stopping too close to the car in front of you and a backward jolt will occur when you come to a complete stop.

Do not brake and turn at the same time. Your car may not turn as well and may not slow down as much if you brake and turn at the same time. Even racecar drivers have learnt the skill of separating turning and braking, and these racers are always on the edge with their vehicles! What you will learn with a good driving school about braking and turning is important if you want to prevent accidents in the future. Essentially, when making a corner, apply your brakes before you make the turn.

Expect the unexpected. Ideally you should always look as far down the road as possible so that you are aware of the obstacles, if any, you may face. Having said that, we all make mistakes, including experienced drivers. Always be prepared to stop abruptly. To do this, hit the brake pedal firmly and as early as possible to give you the most braking control. If you brake too late, you could still lock the brakes, your tires will skid, and you will lose control of the vehicle. The earlier you are able to brake, the more control you will have. While you are doing this, keep both hands firmly on the steering wheel because the car will most likely swerve and if that happens, you will need to have maximum control over where you are driving.

Practice, practice, practice. It is good to get a feel of your car's maximum braking potential and one way to do this is to practice braking in an empty parking lot. Start by intentionally over-applying the brakes then reducing your braking force. Accelerate to a safe speed and apply your brakes as hard as you can. You should hear a good amount of squealing. Do this over and over again, applying the brakes less each time until you can barely hear the squealing. This is the absolute limit of your tires' traction and the quickest way to stop.

It's never too late to learn how to brake properly. If you're a learner driver taking driving lessons, you should be taught the proper braking techniques. The thing to remember is to always focus on where you want to go and not on what you want to avoid.

Custom Car Stickers - Give Your Car a Nice Makeover

You don't have to spend thousands of dollars to upgrade the looks of your vehicle. A simple custom bumper sticker can do the job with less cost. Using bumper stickers for decorative purposes is not new. A silkscreen printer Forest F. Gill started using it for his cars as far back as World War II. Today, stickers became a common fixture on vehicles wherever you may go. Below is a list of tips on how to add more zing in your car's appearance via bumper stickers:

How to Enhance Your Vehicle with Custom Car Stickers

* Pick a sticker design that would represent your identity. Like your choice of car brand and model, the sticker design that you would choose speaks much of your personality. That being said, it is important to decide on a design that would sit well with your personality. For instance: if you are the outdoor type, choose a design that would tell the world how you love the outdoors.

* Make sure that your sticker sits well with your car's appearance. Your immediate aim is to enhance the exterior of your vehicle and not to wreak havoc on its appearance. Choose or think of a sticker design that would complement the features of your car. If your car is a vintage '59 Camaro, a Barney sticker wouldn't help improve the looks of your car that much. It's alright if you want to instigate some good laughing fit.

* Be original. Ready-made stickers bought from mom-and-pop stores are great if you are a kindergarten student on a sticker-happy trip. If you are aiming for some class and originality, making your own custom sticker design is the way to go. Think of a unique design that complemented by witty slogans that would make your car standout. However, be cautious in using offensive bumper sticker slogans.

* Look for inspiration online. There are excellent online sources for your car sticker project. Look for online printing company blogs that provides the best images and articles that will rev up your creativity.

Before you step on the gas and locate the nearest printer, you must bear in mind that your terrific sticker concept, when entrusted in the hands of the wrong printing company, will come out as trash. To make sure that your sticker design comes out just the way you wanted it to, choose only an online printing company that offers the best prints, the fastest turnaround time and the most affordable printing rates.
